Tips For Using The Vape Mix Calculator
- Choosing your PG/VG ratio is crucial for balancing flavour, throat hit, and vapour production. The most common PG/VG base is 70/30
- We advise not to use extra diluents, but we also like breaking the rules, so…
- Nicotine strength starts at 0 and goes up to 20mg. Typical strengths are:
- 3 mg/ml for DTL
- 10–20 mg/ml for MTL and pod systems
- You can mix any flavours in any desired ratios. The most common is 15%-20% but we would say that if mixing very strong, especially menthol flavours, keep your amounts to between 10% and 12%
Mixing Your Vape Juice
To Steep or Not To Steep?
Steeping is a process of letting your DIY vape juice rest to allow the flavours and ingredients to blend properly. It’s not a necessity and comes down to personal choice. If you do choose to steep your e-liquid, the easiest way to do so is to leave it in a cool, dark place and shake the bottle regularly. Leave it for a few days up to 4 weeks depending on your preferences.
Riots Vape Calculator Glossary
PG |
Propylene glycol (PG) is a base ingredient in vape juice used to carry flavourings, colourings, and nicotine. |
VG |
VG stands for vegetable glycerin, a key ingredient in vape juice. VG is a thick, odourless, and flavourless liquid designed to produce vapour when heated |
Nicotine |
The amount of nicotine in a vape depends on the brand and the strength of the e-liquid. It can be anywhere from 0–20 mg/ml. A UK-regulated disposable vape with a nicotine level of 20 mg/ml and 2 ml of liquid contains about 40 mg of nicotine, which is roughly equivalent to 20 mg of nicotine delivered to the user. This is similar to the amount of nicotine in 20 cigarettes, which contain 200–300 mg of nicotine. |
mg/ml |
The nicotine strength of vape liquid is measured in milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml). The number on the bottle indicates how many milligrams of nicotine are in each milliliter of e-liquid. For example, a 12 mg/ml e-liquid has 12 milligrams of nicotine in every milliliter of liquid. |
