Travelling with a Vape in 2025: Your Ultimate Summer Guide

Travelling with a Vape in 2025: Your Ultimate Summer Guide

Summer 2025 is here, and you're ready to take your vape kit and favourite e-liquids on holiday. But before you pack your bags and head to the airport, there's something you need to know. While the UK stays vape-friendly for now, laws around vaping devices, e-liquids, and nicotine products vary wildly across the globe — and they’re changing fast. What’s allowed at home could land you in serious trouble abroad.

The suits in charge love to move the goalposts, and what was legal last year might get your vape kit confiscated this year. Getting it wrong means more than a ruined holiday; it’s your gear, your money, and your freedom on the line.

This isn't just another travel blog; this is your ultimate summer vape guide.

We’ve pulled together the essential travel guide for vapers in 2025. You’ll find out exactly how to pack your vape device and e-liquids for airport security, where vaping is banned completely, and which countries are vape-friendly (and which aren’t). Whether you're heading to Europe, Asia, or anywhere in between, this guide helps you stay safe, legal, and ready to enjoy your trip without any nasty surprises.

So, you're taking your flavour fix on tour this summer? Fair play. Just know this — the rules abroad aren’t always on your side. What flies in one country could land you in trouble in the next, and the suits love switching things up with zero warning.

If you don’t want your stash binned and your holiday ruined, there’s one thing you have to do before you pack: check the latest rules for wherever you’re heading. No guesswork. No “it’ll probably be fine.” Jump on your destination’s official government or embassy site and get the facts straight from the source.

Defend the cause, demand the flavour! 🌎

FLYING SOON? HERE'S HOW TO TRAVEL WITH YOUR DEVICE

So, can you take your vape on a plane?

Listen up. Your vape device, your hardware, your kit — it flies with you in your carry-on. ALWAYS. Don't even think about putting it in your checked luggage.

The batteries in these things are a fire risk under pressure, and you don’t want to be the rebel who accidentally grounds a whole flight. Shove it in the hold and you’re asking for delays, getting kicked off the plane, and a fine that’ll kill your holiday fund. Not a good look.

JUICE RULES: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

A picture of e-liquids in a clear bag at a terminal going through border security check. The bottles have no branding on them

You know the global liquid rule by now: anything in your carry-on has to be 100ml or less (per bottle), all crammed into a single, clear plastic bag. Generally, it's one clear bag for your liquids with a one-litre total limit. But since every airport is a different kind of headache, you better check the specific rules for your departure and arrival zones. If you're just away for a few days, that should be plenty to keep you topped up.

If you're heading somewhere vape-friendly, you can always raid a local vape shop for fresh supplies. There’s no limit on liquids in your checked bag, but a word of warning: cabin pressure will wage war on your bottles. It’ll squeeze them and leave your clothes in a sticky, fruity mess.

Double-check the lids are on tight and chuck 'em in a separate clear bag. And yes, your pre-filled pods count towards that 100ml liquid allowance. Don't get caught out by the small print.

NO-GO ZONES: WHERE NOT TO BE A REBEL

    Airports

no vaping sign at an airport

Airports are basically a no-go zone for vaping. Unless you spot a smoking area that explicitly says it’s allowed, don’t risk it. Rules vary from airport to airport, but most don’t let you vape indoors, at the gates, or even in the car park. If in doubt, ask. No one wants to kick off their holiday with a fine or a telling-off at security.

    Planes

no vaping sign on a plane

This one’s not up for debate. DO NOT VAPE ON A PLANE.

It might seem obvious, but we’ll say it again for the people in the back. A quick puff in the toilet? Forget it. Those loos have detectors so sensitive they can probably smell your attitude, and they will alert the cabin crew. Getting caught doesn't just mean a slap on the wrist; you're looking at colossal fines, criminal charges, and a potential ban from the airline. Seriously. It’s not rebellious. Don't do it!

ON THE MOVE? HERE'S WHAT TO PACK

RIOT CONNEX is made to travel – over 20 award-winning prefilled pod flavours, zero mess, and all the flavour you love in one snap-and-go device. No faff, no spills – just smooth hits wherever you touch down (as long as it’s legal, obviously).

For the hands-on rebel who demands control, the Oxva NeXlim kit is your answer. This isn't just a device; it's a statement. To get you started, we'll arm you with 3 FREE bottles of our legendary RIOT X or BAR EDTN flavours. It’s your entire arsenal in one box, ready to deploy. (And it goes without saying: use your head. Do the recon first and don't even think about taking it into a country that has outlawed our scene.)

Alternatively, pull off a proper flavour heist. Get away with 4 bottles of BAR EDTN or RIOT X for only £9.99.

BANNED MEANS BANNED: COUNTRIES THAT'LL SHUT YOU DOWN

This bit is serious. Some countries – especially across Asia, South America, and the Middle East – have completely banned vaping. We're not talking a slap on the wrist. We're talking fines, confiscation, even jail time.

If your destination is on the banned list, don’t risk it. No devices, no liquids, no pods, no disposables. Leave it all behind — it’s not worth losing your kit, your cash, or your freedom.

    VAPE-FRIENDLY TERRITORIES (MOSTLY)

Now for the good news. Europe, North America, and parts of Africa are generally where the revolution is thriving. Vaping is mostly accepted and a part of the scene. But don't get complacent. "Generally accepted" doesn't mean a total free-for-all.

Every country, and even city, has its own set of rules on where you can and can't vape. Before you jet off, do your due diligence. A quick search of the local laws is the difference between a legendary trip and a buzzkill fine. Stay sharp.

    YOUR 2025 SUMMER TACTICAL GUIDE

Let’s be clear — here in the UK, we’ve got it good. But the second you step off that plane, the rules change. Just because it’s smooth sailing at home doesn’t mean the rest of the world’s playing nice.

Just because something’s legal doesn’t mean you won’t get side-eyed for doing it. Laws aren’t the full picture — local attitudes matter too. Before you even start packing, look up the rules and get a feel for the vibe on the ground. You’re repping the whole scene when you travel, so be smart, stay low-key, and if you’re not sure — ask.

Protect our reputation so we can keep up the fight everywhere. If you have to resupply behind enemy lines, be vigilant. The market is flooded with poisonous, back-alley juice and knock-off hardware designed to take you out of the game. Hunt for legit sellers, inspect your gear, and don't let the fakers compromise your mission.

Riot’s gone global — and so have you. If you spot our shield on a shelf abroad or bump into a fellow flavour fan, snap a pic and tag us.

Let the world know where the movement’s made it.

    Enjoy the summer!
