Speaking exclusively via to Riot eLiquid - Briton, George King, who was caught climbing the Lotte World Tower on Monday, has released an update on his predicament in South Korea and reveals he can't wait to get back in a harness and climb.
"THE SOUTH KOREAN POLICE ARE TREATING ME WITH RESPECT - I'VE BEEN KEPT IN MUCH WORSE JAILS"
"I’ve spent over two days in jail, and it looks like I could have to spend a month in prison before the court case.
I often judge a country and its culture by the way the authorities treat me. I have nothing bad to say about the South Koreans. They have treated me with the outmost respect and diligence. The Koreans are simply the loveliest people I have ever met.
I’ve had much worse jail cells in other countries compared to South Korea.”
Speaking about his foiled attempt to reach of top of the Lotte World Tower:
“My goal for the Lotte Tower was to perform an urban freebase. To climb to the top and jump off. Unfortunately, I did not achieve my dream in this mission but I am grateful to the ongoing support from my partners, Riot E-liquid. There were complications which did not enable me to reach the top. With every loss you learn everything and with a win you learn nothing. I'll be wiser for this experience, and I will achieve my dream of climbing and flying off a skyscraper in the near future.
Despite my current situation, I look forward to getting back in the harness, acquiring a new target and achieving my dream. In retrospect, I will see this project as part of the journey to achieving the greatness of my dream to climb and fly off a skyscraper.”
Ben Johnson, Riot E-liquid CEO, added:
"We are on a mission to help people quit smoking, and we partnered with George because he is an inspiration in overcoming challenges - and coming back stronger. What has played out over the past few days, the failure, and wanting to go again, is similar to the journey of someone attempting to quit cigarettes."
